Brief.
For the JEC World, the world's leading trade fair for composite materials, our task was to create innovative solutions for Henkel's business fields Automotive and Aerospace together at one stand and to create an interesting interactive experience.
Our solution was to make the world of Henkel Composite Solutions literally "touchable" on transparent OLED displays. A novel technology, which is perfectly suited to really do justice to the infinite application possibilities of the products. This led to a clear success, as the infopoints were always very well attended and the OLED display was used very often.
Workflow.
First I made wireframes to define the exact structure of the screens and discuss it with the client. After we we agreed on the layout structure, the visual hierarchy and the usability, I used the layouts as a template for the visual realisation. Using Photoshop I created the layouts and exported assets for unity and handed over those to the programming department. What followed were tests in unity and later on the devices - OLED displays from Samsung. With the help of the studio, that supported us with the OLED displays, we tried to achieve a similar lighting atmosphere as later on at the fair to adapt the displays in this respect. This meant that we adapted the prototype in the studio, e.g. gamma values to create transparency, but also enough contrast to make the information on the screen easy to read.
