CurveLED animation for the SMS Group exhibition stand at the Metec 2011 in Dusseldorf.

Responsibility.

Animation design for a 110m long and 10m high LED wall that which was built and projected around the SMS Group exhibition stand.

Brief and implementation.

The main task for the Metec exhibition in Duesseldorf was to clearly distinguish the SMS Group stand from the competition and to become an eye-catcher for the public. Therefore, a spectacular booth concept was developed: A versatile, multimedia world of experience was created on 2,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The company tennagels Medientechnik, specialists for light installations and multimedia, was commissioned for the technical implementation. They constructed an approximately 480 square metre LED curtain made of curveLED strands. In cooperation with Capture Media, I developed the animation that was projected onto the curveLEDs. The organically curved banner framed the entire stand.
Inside the booth, a technology boulevard made it possible to interactively experience the innovations of the SMS Group. A conference room offered space for approx. 120 guests. A 70 square metre semi-circular projection screen with picture-in-picture technology was set up here. The customer, the SMS Group, considered the large-scale project a complete success.

Marc and I worked together for about 18 month @ Capture Media GmbH back in 2011. I was working in the 3d department while Marc was hired as an interface- and motion designer. As we were a small team we collaboated on almost every project. Working with him was a pleasure. He´s absolutely reliable, striving and a hard worker with great problem solving skills.
Although we didn´t work together in the last 10 years, we are still in contact today and I do recommend Marc without hesitation. He´s a great guy and if he does not fit into almost every team, I don´t know who does.
